Winter Adult Education - Jewish Self-Defense
Join Rabbi Kantor for an 8-Week course on Jewish Self-Defense. This course will be on Zoom and the link will be provided in your registration email.
This winter we will embark to understand “What does it mean for a peace seeking – justice loving people to stand up and defend themselves on the battlefield?” Through this course of study we will examine questions such as:
- When are we ALLOWED to go to war?
- When are we OBLIGATED to go to war?
- Does it change if we are in the land of Israel or in the diaspora?
- How do we define “the enemy”?
- How are we allowed to act on the battlefield in the midst of war – when the most animalistic urges and tendencies can arise in even the calmest of our people?
While each session will be a unique session addressing a specific topic – throughout the course we will build a picture of what it means for us, Am Yisrael, to defend our selves in the “rough neighborhood” we seem to find ourselves in.
