The Men's Club Shofar Factory

Seventy-six Trombones It Wasn’t . . .

. . . but the noise of 36 shofars coming from the Men’s Club shofar factory was really something to hear echo down the hall of B’nai Moshe.

Learning about shofars from guest instructor Rabbi Aharon Davidson and then working to transform a rough horn into a thing of beauty kept a lot of people busy on September 7.

Actually, the on-site session just gave everyone a chance to get started. A lot of “homework” was required to finish the process of sanding and polishing.

Despite the good bit of muscle work, everyone involved had a good time making one of the most recognized of all Jewish ritual objects. I think it’s fair to say, we all had a blast! (Literally.)
