Once every 28 years the sun returns to the position it occupied at the same time during the week of its creation, according to Talmudic tradition. In 2009, this ocurred on Wednesday, April 8. This occasion is cause for celebration among Jews, who greeted that Wednesday morning with the Birkat Hachamah, or the Blessing of the Sun.
